Returning back to the salon...

Updated: May 10, 2020

Upon Governor Brown's decision for salons to open up for business, I want you to know about all of the changes we will be having in the salon. We will be having some obvious differences, such as my work station has been moved next to Leon for scheduling reasons. Here is what else you can expect:

Before your appointment I will contact you and ask you:

~Have you had a cough?

~Have you had a fever?

~Have you had shortness of breath?

~Have you been in close contact with anyone with these symptoms or anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, we will reschedule your appointment until symptoms have resolved and the fever has been resolved without medication for at least 72 hours, or at least 14 days after contact with a person sick with a cough, fever, or diagnosed COVID-19.

I will then review information about how COVID-19 is spread from one person to another: namely, through coughing, sneezing, touching, or via objects touched by someone with the virus.

I also will keep a guest book that includes client contact information, and date and time of appointment.

And I will have you sign a waiver that allows that I work on you and that you acknowledge that I am not responsible for your catching COVID-19 in Studio Danielle. OR something to that regard.

At this time we are only allowed one client at a time. For parents of young children, I will not be able to have a parent inside the salon with the child. For most of you, I know this won't be an issue as I already know your children. I will step outside to consult with parents and children about our plan for their hair. Let me know if you have concerns about this guideline, but there is not much I can do about it, as it is a requirement by the State. However, perhaps it could work on a Saturday afternoon when other stylists will not be in the salon and a parent could be able to stand 6 feet apart from us as I cut their child's hair.

When you arrive for your appointment, please wait outside. Let me know that you have arrived by texting me and when I am ready I will let you in. I will try to be as timely as possible. Please arrive with fresh clean hair. Please do wear a mask. If you arrive without one I have some available for $5. I will also be wearing a mask.

Before you come in I will sanitize my work station perfectly for you. After you enter into the salon please head to the back and wash your hands in the bathroom. I will have done the same before you enter. I appreciate your washing your hands. And after that, if you touch something and you are uncomfortable, there will also be a hand sanitizer at my station.

From that point on things will be somewhat similar. I will look a little different with my fresh smock (for each client a new one) and my mask (fresh one with each client), and sometimes my face shield (for beard trims and waxes).

I will need to do things like: wash out the shampoo bowl after I use it during your time with me. But you are welcome to wait at my new station while I do that.

After your service, if you are paying with a card, I will not ask that you sign, but I will sign your name with an X. I still take cash thank you. This transaction will take place at my station.

There won't be any amenities anymore. Such as snacks and beverages offered by the salon. We also have to take away the magazines. If you would like a product text me what you need and I will get it ready for you and you can come to pick it up at a time of day that I am available. I'll bring it out for you and you can pay for it outside.

I can't think of anything else at the moment. Thank you for your support during our changing lives and I look forward to seeing you soon again!

Love and happiness to you!

Mackenzie
